This page explains, in plain English, what information is involved when you visit crumblegame.com or play Daily Crumble in your browser, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Crumble is an indie word game made by one developer, Ty (X_Tyro). When this page says “we” or “us”, it means Ty. You can reach us at [email protected].
This website
crumblegame.com is a simple website. It has no sign-up forms, no ads and no third-party trackers, and we don’t set any cookies.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. It may keep these in security and request logs to keep the site running and protect it from attacks. Cloudflare handles this under its own privacy policy.
We don’t use any website analytics right now. We may add Cloudflare Web Analytics later. It is cookieless and counts visits without following you around the web. If we add it, we’ll update this page.
Playing Daily Crumble in your browser
Daily Crumble at /daily/play/ runs in your browser and uses Unity Gaming Services, Unity’s online service for games, for its online features. When you play:
- Anonymous player ID. The game signs you in anonymously with Unity. That gives you a random player ID. We don’t ask for your email, real name, phone number or password.
- Player name. You start with an automatic name like “Player12345”. You can change it. Your player name is public, so other players can see it.
- Scores and leaderboards. Your Daily scores and finish times go to the Daily leaderboard with your player name and avatar, and other players can see them. Once players have used their attempts for the day, they can also look at the finished boards of other players.
- Profile and stats. Game stats (for example Daily results and streaks) are saved with your player ID on Unity’s servers. Some of them appear on your public profile.
- Score checks. Some game results are checked on the server so the leaderboards stay fair.
- Saved in your browser. Your attempts, scores, settings and sign-in session are saved in your browser’s own storage on your device (local storage/IndexedDB), so the game remembers you next time. These aren’t cookies we use for tracking.
Unity handles this data for us and also processes it under its own Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. The Unity engine may also send Unity basic technical information, such as your device and browser type. Unity and Cloudflare may process data in other countries, including the United States.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal data.
- We don’t show ads, and we don’t use advertising trackers or advertising IDs.
- We don’t ask for your email or real name to play.
Email and Discord
If you email us, we get your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and help you. Our email runs on Microsoft 365. Our community is on Discord, which is a separate service with its own privacy policy.
Your choices
- Clear what’s stored in your browser: use your browser’s settings to clear site data for crumblegame.com. This removes your saved attempts, settings and sign-in from that browser. Next time you play, you’ll start as a new anonymous player.
- Ask us to delete your data: email [email protected] with your player name and roughly when you played, and we’ll delete your player data and leaderboard entries. Since accounts are anonymous, please send the request before you clear your browser data. That makes it easier for us to find your player.
- You can also email us to ask what data we hold about you or to correct it.
Children
Crumble is made for a general audience and isn’t directed at children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has played and you want their data removed, email [email protected] and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this page
If the game or the site changes how it uses data, we’ll update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top.
